Hemangi joined ANM Global as a Partner in March, 2021 to lead the Litigation practice of the firm. She is considered to be an all-round professional, having accumulated rich experience for over more than a decade, and having successfully worked on various high-profile litigations related to the intellectual property, media & entertainment industry, corporate & tax related disputes, real-estate matters, along with other civil and contractual matters.
Hemangi started her legal career upon graduating as a “Bachelor of Laws” from the renowned Government Law College, Mumbai in 2006, and further went on to pursue her “Master of Laws (Business Law)” degree from the University of Mumbai. She is a registered Solicitor enrolled with the prestigious Bombay Incorporated Law Society along with being registered with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. Hemangi started her career as a litigator at the chambers of Senior Advocate Mr. Haresh Jagtiani gaining a hands-on experience in assisting and managing various litigation matters, and thereafter joined Naik Naik and Co. where she inter alia worked on various copyright infringement matters and media & entertainment related documentation. She was also actively involved in the writ petitions filed before various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India challenging the interpretation of notifications issued by the service tax department and in the alternative, the constitutional vires of service tax levied on the renting of immovable property. Hemangi has also worked at DSK Legal where she regularly advised and assisted clients in litigations and arbitrations relating to contractual disputes, corporate frauds, copyright infringement, etc. During her stint there, she was actively involved in the proceedings relating to succession to the position of spiritual head of Dawoodi Bohra community. She has also worked at Mumbai International Airport Limited where she gained experience of litigation and documentation of infrastructure and real estate matters as well as working with various statutory bodies. Subsequently she worked at J. Sagar Associates where she focussed on litigation as well as real estate transactions for acquisition and sale of large plots of land. Hemangi is acclaimed amongst her peers and clients for her versatile working style and attitude to be a result-oriented enabler who strongly believes in advising and resolving contractual, legal and regulatory challenges through her sound legal acumen and out of the box problem solving techniques. Hemangi has a proven capacity to undertake responsibility in crunch circumstances and her tenacity has been appreciated by clients time and again.
